Materials
Aluminium
Over the last 50 years, the consumption of aluminium for building applications has shown steady growth due to some key advantages:
First is aluminium’s high strength-to-weight ratio — which allows architects to meet the required performance specifications while minimizing the load of on a building’s supporting structure. This makes aluminium very suitable for the refurbishment of buildings. Second is a long service life. Aluminium applications offer a long service life and require very little maintenance. Third, it offers considerable design flexibility, which proves very useful to engineers and architects. And finally, the metal can be anodized or painted — meeting decorative needs, enhancing aluminium’s natural durability and corrosion resistance.
Weathering of Euroseam Stucco Aluminium![]()
Aluminium is a natural product and when newly installed can exhibit a degree of reflective glare.
This glare will reduce significantly over a period of time as the material “weathers”, with the process beginning within weeks of installation.
The picture is below indicative of change that will occur of a period of time, showing the difference between “new product” and some product that has been installed for approximately 2 years.

(This product is installed in a low pitch application and is approximately 1 mile from the coast) The level and speed at which the material “weathers” will vary according to various factors such as; The pitch of the installation or environment.
e.g. if it is close to the coast, industry or trees.
Pre CoatedAluminum Finishes
PVF2 (PVDF, polyvinylidene Fluoride)
This comprises a minimum of 70% PVF2 resin and amaximum of 30% acrylic. It is very durable, giving excellent flexibility and chemical resistance combined with the highest possible performance regarding gloss retention, chalking and colour change.
ARS - Abrasion resistance silicone
This system can be a polyurathene or polyester resin mixed with polyamide, the durability of this system is good. Regarding weatherbility, its performance in U.V. would be between that of a good exterior polyester and a silicone polyester

Aluminium Composite Material

ACM is the continuous bonding of two thin skins of aluminum (ACM) or other metal (MCM)* under tension to either side of a thermoplastic core.
The thermoplastic core allows for uniform expansion and contraction of both metal skins.
-
ACM has an excellent strength to weight ratio.
ACM is pre-finished, flexible, lightweight and can be post-fabricated or curved
ACM offers the rigidity, superior flatness and thermal stability of heavy-gauge metal sheet. -
ACM is used as a metal-faced cladding material for exterior and interior applications; for walls, ceilings, canopies, beam wraps, column cladding, fixturing, free-standing kiosks
Shown above is the famous Gujarat Hotel, Dubai. Constructed with an Apolic ACM outer skin.
Euroclad are the importers of Alpolic material into the UK.
