BREEAM Rating
Euroclad Elite Systems 4 BREEAM Rating
The BRE Green Guide to Specification (3rd Edition) contains information regarding
the relative energy performance of materials and components. The performance
has been generated using Life Cycle Assesment, which is a method of evaluating
the environmental impacts of a system taking into account its full life cycle.
The guide measures the performance of each specification against a range of environmental impacts including:
Climate change
Toxicity
Fossil fuel and ozone depletion
Levels of emissions and polutants
Mineral and water extraction
The ratings also take into account Recyclability, Recycled Input, Typical
Replacement Interval and As Built Cost among other considerations.
There are 4 credits available within the materials section of a design stage
BREEAM assessment for choosing a specified proportion of major building
elements that achieve an “A” Summary Rating in the Green Guide. link to the green guide
Euroseam twin skin constructions comprising coated or uncoated aluminium
Euroseam outer sheet, coated steel inner liner, tray or deck and mineral wool
insulation achieve an “A” Summary Rating in the Green Guide.
Further credits (up to 15) are available where the building demonstrates a %
improvement above the requirement for CO2 emissions as set out in the Building
Regulations (Part L2A 2006).
The contribution to this performance is dependent on many elements of the
building but the ability of Euroseam systems to be easily adapted for better
thermal performance with systems achieving 0.25, 0.20 and 0.16 U values
available as standard is a key element to facilitating higher credit awards.
