Residential
Modern building methods for residential blocks often include a mixture of materials - it is very popular to mix areas of insulated render, timber cladding and metal rainscreen. Euroclad’s Linear Façade range offers a superb solution, with the UK’s only BBA approved whole wall solution using a stud wall construction.
Case Study: Cable Street, London
Euroclad Façades division has helped create an impressive set of high
specification contemporary apartments in Cable Street, London.
The Nordic Apartments, designed and built by Rydon Homes, are arranged in
three towers: Ikon, Arta and Stylus. Each tower houses a collection of one,
two and three bedroom apartments with modern open plan layouts and
impressive panoramic views across London.
The LINEAR 2 rainscreen façade system was specified at the Nordic
Apartments in medium grey metallic Alpolic®/fr composite material. The easy
to install façade solution is comprised of a series of cassette panels
individually hooked onto the support frame. The panels can be independently
removed and replaced without disrupting the rest of the façade, which is
particularly useful if solitary panels become damaged.
Euroclad Façades’ LINEAR 2 system is infinitely adjustable and construction of the panels can begin anywhere on the building. Euroclad Façades has implemented the latest CAD software into its manufacturing facility to ensure consistent accuracy and provide bespoke fabrications. Euroclad Façades designed and manufactured bespoke window pods for the Nordic Apartments using the innovative CAD technology. This meant that the flawlessly flat appearance was continued throughout the exterior of the building and the windows could be installed after the façade.
Manufactured by Mitsubishi, Alpolic®/fr composite material provides an exceptional finish with great colour uniformity and impressive flatness. The material is lightweight and rigid with a non-combustible core. Steve Barnes of Rydon Group comments: “The LINEAR 2 system was exceptionally easy to install and the ultra-flat panels add a modern appearance to the Nordic Apartments.”
Case Study: Palm Beach House - featured on Channel 4 Grand Designs
Euroclad, one of the UK’s leading roofing and cladding manufacturers, has provided
an aluminium Euroseam roof to provide the finishing touch at the unique Palm Beach
house in Devon, recently featured on Channel 4’s ‘Grand Designs’.
Comprised of a series of interlocking boxes and a curved deck, the house extends
out towards the sea.Dramatic double-height windows to the front and rear of the
house add to the contemporary appearance and ensure that as much sunshine as
possible is let in. The local planning officer insisted that the build was of the highest
quality, and Euroseam complied with the stringent requirements.
Euroclad’s bespoke aluminium Euroseam roof was rolled on-site and installed over a
timber deck.
The beachfront location of the project and adverse weather conditions
meant that it was necessary for the roofing to be made of a hardwearing noncorrosive
material such as aluminium. The mechanically produced 75mm deep seams, anti capillary groove and low profile pan allows excellent drainage and
increases the superb weatherability. Due to Euroseam’s “zipping-up” principle the
sheet side laps are closed over supporting halters, allowing free movement under
thermal expansion, no external penetration of the sheet, no end laps and low
maintenance performance.
Inspired by a Miami-style beach house, the Palm Beach self build project overlooks
the south Devon coast from the beachfront plot. Euroseam demonstrated a cost
effective roofing solution with high design capabilities and performance.
