Logistics Warehousing
Euroclad’s Elite 2 and 3 are ideal for “big shed” roofs, while Elite 51, 55 and 60 are popular for the walls. Elite 2 uses a class B non-fragile liner, improving the air tightness of the building and reducing health and safety issues. Elite 3 is particularly suitable for large radius roofs - this system uses the SF500 outer profile with no end laps or penetrations. Unlike competitor systems this sheet does not use a separate clip and the sheet is positively fixed, making it very secure, robust and very quick to install. Site rolling enables very long sheet lengths - the record to date is 86m.
Case Study: The Bridge, Dartford.
Euroclad has been chosen by Sharkey & Co to supply metal roofing and
cladding systems for ProLogis Development Ltd’s giant new distribution
centre at The Bridge in Dartford.
Designed by RPS Burks Green, the distribution centre will be spread over
three buildings covering approximately 65,000m2.
Euroclad’s SF500 system
will be used to roof all three buildings, manufactured from Corus Colorcoat
HPS200® pre-finished steel in Wedgewood Blue. Trapezoidal and half-round
profiles were chosen to clad the walls because of their contemporary
appearance and excellent performance.
Jon Dore of Euroclad comments, “A lot of hard work and preparation has
culminated in the award of this project and we are delighted that we can
demonstrate our technical expertise, design and manufacturing capabilities
on such a grand scale.” The Bridge Dartford, 65,000sqm of SF500 in HPS200 Wedgewood Blue.
The longest sheet length was 85m. 18,000sqm Elite 60 on the walls.
Case Study : Logix Park, Hinckley, West Midlands.
SF500 secret fix roofing from Euroclad ensured superb performance and a cost effective
solution at a warehouse and distribution facility at Logix Park, Hinckley, West
Leicestershire.
Over 35,000m2 of the SF500 system was installed at the new warehouse by contractors
Hathaway Roofing. Manufactured in Corus Colorcoat® HPS200® pre-finished steel, the
system provides excellent drainage and weatherability as the absence of end laps or
external penetrations obviates potential leak problems. Curved to a 50m radius, the
Goosewing Grey roof ensures a stylish, aesthetically pleasing finish.
An aluminium standing seam roof was originally proposed to accommodate the curved
radius of the roof. Euroclad SF500 roofing was chosen instead as it could save costs for
the developer without compromising on quality and system performance. Featuring a
precision engineered snap fit 55mm overlap, SF500 roofing is quickly and easily
installed.
The sheets were rollformed and curved on-site, which were then lifted up to the roof by
crane. Euroclad’s self-contained, mobile roll former eliminates issues such as limited
access, storage space, high transport costs and damage during transit. Glen Race from contractors Hathaway Roofing said: “SF500 from Euroclad offered the
best all round cost effective solution, providing a durable and attractive roofing system.
The on site rolling facility and ease of installation are great advantages on large scale
projects such as this.”
Logix Park is an extensive development of high quality office, warehouse and production
space, located within the Midland’s ‘Golden Triangle’. The park will provide over 80
acres of new business sites in an area firmly established as a key location for
warehousing and distribution.
