Case Study: Auto Technium, Lanelli.
Utilising the latest in cladding technology, Euroclad Façades has supplied rainscreen
façade systems for the high profile Auto Technium development in Llanelli, South Wales.
The multi-million pound research and development centre has been finished with an aluminium composite material, helping achieve a state of the art development.
Located near the coast, the 2,200m2 building is subject to harsh climatic conditions,
making aluminium, rather than conventional steel, the perfect choice. The LINEAR 3
rainscreen and bull nose soffits were manufactured in silver ALPOLIC/fr, providing a
contemporary and striking façade.
The detail design and installation was performed by DWT Services, who selected the
LINEAR 3 system based on its design flexibility and speed of build. Panels are positively
fixed to support rails, saving valuable time on-site. The LINEAR 3 system helped main
contractors Carillion, with whom DWT partner on a number of prestigious projects,
deliver a solution that met with the architect’s vision.
ALPOLIC/fr comprises 0.5mm thick aluminium skins with a non-combustible core,
meaning it is up to 15% lighter than solid aluminium. This lightness facilitates much
easier installation, as well as ensuring less material is required for the supporting grid.
The unique coating process ensures the panel colour is consistent throughout and the
level of flatness achieved is unparalleled.
Case Study: Esis , Nantgarw.
Roofing and cladding manufacturer Euroclad has supplied a curved standing
seam roof system for a new training facility for ESIS, the Welsh Education
and School Improvement Service.
The Euroseam system specified at ESIS is a convex curved roof with a radius
of 10m.
A major advantage of Euroseam is the exceptional array of curving
options available. Euroclad’s new machinery combined with the latest CNC
tooling techniques allow Euroseam to be produced with multiple radii forms
within a single sheet. Convex and concave forms can be manufactured down
to a 3 metre radius, with parabolic and multi radii curves also available.
Euroclad offers comprehensive training on the design and installation of
standing seam roofs to all contractors at its well-equipped Training Centre.
The building for ESIS accommodates offices, training and meeting rooms,
specialist training facilities and a resource area, which provide state-of-theart
facilities to ultimately improve the education of children in the future
.
